The rise of a global pandemic has promoted the use of alternative technologies to stop the spread of the virus. These technologies have helped businesses stay open while maintaining COVID-19 social distancing measures. One of the biggest industries that struggled to keep up was the food industry.

Restaurants had to quickly and effectively adapt to the new normal. For example, restaurant managers had to enforce the rule of wearing a face mask and control the number of customers in their stores at all times. This resulted in decreased traffic and performance drops.

To combat the spread of COVID-19 through food delivery and solve many of the issues that restaurant managers and owners faced with the current delivery system, a proposed solution of an autonomous drone fleet with food delivery mechanics was put forward.
